I started my academic and journalistic journey in the United States at Los Angeles City College.

I joined the newsroom on day one and worked on the award-winning publications Los Angeles Collegian newspaper and the Collegian Times magazine. 

In 2019, under my guidance as editor-in-chief, Collegian Times won First Place Pinnacle Award for the first time in the history of the newsroom.

The publication also received a Pacemaker. 

In 2022, after a break, I went back to the newsroom as editor-in-chief of the newspaper and the magazine. 

That year, Collegian Times won the Pacemaker once more.

The Los Angeles Collegian won First Place Pinnacle Award- Newspaper of the Year during the same ceremony. The next day, the newspaper was inducted into Pacemaker 100 as part of an elite group of Pacemaker winners.

The same year, both publications received a record-breaking number of individual awards from Columbia Scholastic Press Association including 11 first places.
